An event dedicated to the 90th Independence Day anniversary of Latvia and the 90th anniversary of the Latvian police takes place at the Liepaja Latvian Society House. Interior Minister Mareks Seglins and the State Police Chief, General Aldis Lieljuksis participate in the event.

The Celebrations have come and gone. They have finished. And will come again soon - Latvia's Jubilee Year has symbolically concluded, moving to other celebrations... On the First Advent we lit one of the four candles in the period leading to Christmas. This happened symbolically on Sunday in Alūksne, where we unveiled a 21st century column - a gift to the diligent residents of this city, who are full of ideas and had the most daring Gaismas tilti [Bridges of Light] project in Latvia. On the evening of the 22nd of August they created a path of light and flowers, connecting three city bridges.

Exhibition dedicated to Latvia and Latvian culture opens at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, marking the 90th Independence Day jubilee of Latvia. The exhibition features the painting "World's Largest Choir" and photographs and video materials telling about the creation of the large-format painting, as well as materials about the tradition of Latvian Song and Dance Festivals.

At the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, a Latvian cultural exhibition will be unveiled, in which a painting of the recent Latvian Song and Dance Festival called ''The largest choir in Latvia'' will be unveiled, as well as photographs and a short-film about this year's Song and Dace Festival and how the painting itself was created. The second part of the exhibition will be a travelling photo-exhibition, organized by the Latvian Foreign Ministry, about this past summer's Latvian Song and Dance Festival.
